How fun was that?
The first Waterford Spring Fling is behind us, but what a great time everyone had.
It started out with concerns about the weather -- but the weather was beautiful. There was a nice crowd of more than 60 people including lots of children who were running around so excited with being outdoors with friends and family. They loved thee cornhole game and several ball games. Then the fire truck pulled up and tapped the siren a few times. The children lined up to have a grand look inside the fire truck. I think the firemen had as much fun as the kids did.
There were games for the young and old; chairs to sit and visit; and lots of food to enjoy. The Hope Food Truck Co. was a choice which offered something for everyone's taste buds. From burgers to bratwurst, chicken tenders to BBLT (that's short for bologna, bacon, lettuce, tomato), nachos (both spicy and sweet), and fries and onion rings. I can highly recommend the chicken nachos. They were great!
Our first Spring Fling is certainly a successful gathering to remember.
Nearly everyone who was there commented on how much they enjoyed the time outdoors together. For those who could not attend, we missed you.
And, we want to keep the party and the fun going. We probably will be part of the National Night Out on August 6 in the same spot. We are planning a Fall Fest in October. Stay tuned for more information.
Thanks to Beth Mungo, Audrey Meixner, Jordan Johnston, the hospitality committee as well as our board members for making this a special day.
